Who is Cindy?

I got my first camera at the age of 6 and it was then that I was bit by the photography bug. Over the years, I owned my share of point-and-shoots, but it wasn’t until I attended undergraduate at Harvard University when I finally got my hands on an old-school film SLR in an art class. I loved it, but the hobby never grew to much more. I focused my schooling around an economics degree and pursued a career in business which I love. But something was missing.

Early in 2008 I picked up a digital SLR and at first, I would bring my camera to my friends’ weddings and snap away casually. But when people saw the photos, they started to ask me to photograph their weddings, families, and memories and offered to pay me for them.

I’m a lucky girl. I’ve found the perfect balance between my analytical side (my career in sales and marketing) and my creative side (my love of photography).

It’s an amazing feeling.

What is Hopparazzi?

I was born the year of the hare. When I was in college, I got the nickname, bunny, which then evolved to hoppi, and then finally, hoppibunny.

When trying to decide the name of the brand, I wanted something fun, lighthearted, and if possible, relevant to my nickname I’ve had for so many years. The name hopparazzi came up during a brainstorming session and it just stuck. It was upbeat, cheerful, and rolled right off the tongue!

Why a blog?

I hope to write about my life, my adventures, my photography.  I hope you enjoy reading it all!
